Frequently Asked Questions
Booking, preparation, results.
If your question is not answered here, our team is available 24 hours a day at both centres.
How long does it take to get results?
Most results are ready within 24 to 48 hours. Urgent cases can be expedited through our express service. Turnaround varies by test, some specialised studies take longer, and we will tell you what to expect for your particular test when you book.
Do I need to book before coming?
Walk-ins are welcome at both centres. Appointments are advised for specialised tests, as these may require preparation or a specific time slot. Booking ahead also means we can send your preparation instructions in advance.
Are your tests accurate and reliable?
We use advanced equipment and strict quality-control processes throughout the laboratory, with imaging reported by consultant specialists.
Do I need to fast before my test?
Some tests require fasting, and others require different preparation such as a full bladder or avoiding certain products on the day. We provide instructions specific to your test beforehand, so you do not need to guess.
Can my results be sent to me online?
Yes. Results can be delivered by email or via WhatsApp where appropriate. You can also collect a printed report in person at either centre.
How do I book a test?
Four ways: complete the booking form on this website, call either centre directly, message us on WhatsApp, or walk in. Submitting the form sends us a request. A member of our team will then contact you to confirm the appointment.
Where are you located, and when are you open?
We have two centres: 3rd Avenue by 34 Crescent, Gwarinpa, Abuja; and 7 Ologun Agbaje Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Both are open 24 hours.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Bring your doctor’s request form if you have one, as it tells us exactly which examination has been requested. If you do not have a referral, speak with our team and we will advise what is appropriate.
What should I bring to my appointment?
A form of identification, your doctor’s request form if you have one, any previous scans or results relevant to the examination, and a list of medication you are currently taking.
Is MRI available at Rapid Diagnostics?
Yes. MRI is an active service. Because the scanner uses a strong magnetic field, tell us in advance about any implanted metal or electronic device, previous surgery involving metal, or if you may be pregnant.
Can you help in an emergency?
No. This website, our booking form and our WhatsApp service are not intended for emergency medical care. If you need urgent care, go to your nearest emergency department or contact your local emergency service.
